At Moana Beauty, we strive to keep our products as pure and natural as we possibly can. We also use as many ingredients sourced directly from Tahiti as possible.

Are there preservatives in Moana Beauty Products?
After almost losing the bottom half of my left leg to a MRSA infection, I feel very strongly about this issue.
Approved preservatives are key to the safety and efficacy of any beauty product. Moana Beauty products contain a globally approved paraben and formaldehyde-free preservative system. Even if a product is oil-based, that does not mean it doesn't need a preservative. Skin care products are used in wet environments like showers, baths and sinks, where drops of water can enter them, no matter how careful we are. Fingers are stuck into jars, spoons that might touch a drop of water are used to scoop scrub out. Even a microscopic amount of water can create a breeding ground for contamination, therefore, there is always a need for a real preservative. Not a shelf-life extender with no ability to kill microbes.
Is there such a thing as an "all-natural" preservative?
Vitamin E, Rosemary Oil, GSE are not preservatives, they are antioxidants. They cannot kill bacteria, yeast, mold, fungus. They simply extend the shelf life of oils to varying degrees.
