About Moana Beauty
Moana Beauty luxury skin care and bath products are made with botanical ingredients sourced directly from Tahiti and Her Islands. The company was founded by Diana O'Donnell, who first visited Tahiti on her honeymoon to the islands of Moorea and Taha’a in 2005. As she and her husband explored these idyllic islands of French Polynesia, Diana knew she had come to a special place that would somehow change her life. During that first trip, Diana became fascinated with Monoi de Tahiti Oil, Tamanu, Tahitian Vanilla and other natural botanicals used by Tahitian women for beauty and skin care.
Once the newlyweds returned home, the dream of creating a line of Monoi-based beauty products stayed with Diana and she began her research. “After coming home from Tahiti that first time, I missed it terribly. Wearing Monoi Oil brought me back to the islands and made me feel wonderful. At that point, I wanted all of my skin care and bath products to make me feel that way, and with that Moana Beauty was born,” Diana explains. One child, two more trips to Tahiti and four years later, Moana Beauty was founded and the line launched in earlly 2010. Available in boutiques and spas in the USA and online, Moana Beauty lets you escape to paradise right in your own home.
The Meaning Behind 'Moana Beauty'
Moana means 'ocean' in many Polynesian languages, including Tahitian. For Tahitians, as with most Polynesians, the ocean is an integral part of daily life. From the freshly caught fish that is eaten each day, to the pearls that are farmed and sold at market, to the waves that are sailed and surfed upon by kids and adults alike, moana is like a window into the beautiful world of the Tahitian people.
